| About the College |
| Jesus and Mary College, or JMC as it is popularly known, is run by the Jesus and Mary
Congregation- a religious congregation founded in France in 1818 by St. Claudine Thevenet. Six sisters
of the order came to India and set up a series of institutions. The congregation has been running a school called the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Delhi since 1919. The college was started in 1968 as a constituent college of Delhi University with a single department offering the English (Honours) and B.A. (Pass) Course. Today the college has 10 honours departments and offers 15 combinations for studying for a B.A. JMC is a sought after college, particularly by those desirous of studying in an all women's college. |

| The total enrollment at JMC is about 2500 students. The college is housed on its own campus in Chanakyapuri in South Delhi. The infrastructure and facilities available include a three floor library with 50,000 plus books; well equipped laboratories; a separate multi- function hall for cultural activities; extensive gymnasium and sports facilities and a prayer room. The college has about 20 societies for activities such as debating, quiz, music, dramatics etc. |
