| About the College |
| Maitreyi College was established in 1967 by the Delhi Administration. The college is name after an eminent female scholar of the Vedic Age who, when given a choice, chose knowledge over worldly possessions. The college initially started out in Netaji Nagar with just 17 staff members and 2 courses. It subsequently shifted to Chanakyapuri and greatly expanded its portfolio of courses. It became the first college in Delhi University to offer a post graduate program in nanotechnology a few years ago. |

| Maitreyi College occupies a lush 10 acre campus in Chanakyapuri. The college is large and has a student strength of 3000 odd students taught by 125 faculty members. The facilities available include a library with 82,000 books and an internet room; 15 well equipped labs and a full complement of sports and extra- curricular activities. |
