About the College
Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women is one of the newer colleges
of Delhi University. The college was set up in 1989 and was originally called the College of Applied
Sciences for Women. The mandate of the college was to provide specialized training to women in the
applied sciences. The college has stuck to its original mandate and currently focusses on Food Technology,
Electronics, Instrumentation, Information Sciences and Biomedical Science.
Shaheed Rajguru is one of the smaller colleges of Delhi University and has about
350 students on its rolls. The college has 5 departments, each of which caters to one of the 5 streams
offered by the college. These departments are supported by Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Biochemistry/
Mathematics laboratories and a 12,000 book library.
